The choir was founded in January 1993, by the staff of the Municipality of Barreiro, beginning its regular rehearsals on January 27, 1994 with an initial group of 23 members. In 1996 they participated other artists in recording of the “Abraço de Natal” (a Christmas CD) and in October 1997 published their own CD "Fado Coral". The TAB Choir has also participated on TV and radio programs, performing various shows with mixed repertoire of classic and traditional songs. The choir promotes cultural exchanges with other associations, conducting and participating in choirs meetings and concerts in Portugal and in other countries: Galicia and Catalunya in Spain, Italy. Annually they organize a Choirs´ Meeting of Barreiro County. They are well-known for participation in a large number of concerts performed in the City of Barreiro, celebrating festive seasons, most times performing with the Municipal Band of Barreiro.
