Ferenc Liszt Choir from Baja, Hungary
The Ferenc Liszt Choir from Baja, Hungary was formed in 1861. It was called a Singing Society from Baja. It had been finished and re-organized during the historical storms in the 20 th century.
In the life of the choir there haven’t been any intermission since 1958. The choir has performed with more than 200 choir-songs and oratorical pieces with leading the present conductor, Katalin Makkai during the past 30 years since 1993. It is a mixed choir.
It became ’The Festival Choir’, ’Concert Choir’ and ’Gala Choir’ in different quality competitions of Hungary in 2021.
They got taken part in international competitions twice, they got two silver degrees for both choral and secular songs.
They got the Art Award of Bács-Kiskun Country in 2016.
They have performed not only in Baja and its nearby cities but six foreign countries.
They have been the hostile of the Choir Festival Waiting for Whitsun in Baja for 13 years.
